The Escher String Quartet takes its name from Dutch graphic artist M.C. Escher and draws inspiration from the artist's method of interplay between individual components working together to form a whole. Guitarist Jason Vieaux, a musician regularly noted for his engaging and virtuosic live performances, imaginative programming, and uncommon communicative gifts, will add that extra dimension to this string quartet concert.
"Put simply, [the Escher Quartet] has all the qualities necessary to be the next Emerson or Juilliard Quartet: total focus, unflagging energy, bottomless technique and, perhaps most important, rare musical insight and a profound level of cohesion." — Kyle MacMillan, Denver Post
"Vieaux … is among the most talented guitarists of his generation, a player whose effortless technique and fluidity gave the concerto a singing voice." — Tampa Tribune
