An introduction to the music of Beethoven's "late" period (ca. 1817-1827). Discussion will examine Beethoven's role (and that of the late string quartets) in shaping our understanding of creative "lateness" and what makes the late works his greatest, setting a precedent for future composers. In partnership with the Howard County Library System.
A precursor to the Quatuor Ebene's performance on March 12, featuring Beethoven's String Quartets Op. 130 & 131.
